When we first set up Ostrava after many years in storage and a partial rewire undertaken by Richard Adams one of the previous custodians.  It was clear that a significant amount of effort would be required to return Ostrava to be able to exhibit at an exhibition.  There was significant damage as a result of storage and moving the layout to Lawndowns.  In addition Richard Adams one of the previous custodians of the layout had started a rewire of the electrics which needs to be completed.

Over the summer we will be concentrating on three areas

• Trackwork:
  •  Replace track that was damaged or broken during storage and moving to Lawndowns
  • Improving the trackwork to strengthen it around the board joints.
  • replace the turntable deck.
• Electrics
  • complete the rewiring to enable two train operation.
  • replace battery packs for lights on the layout
  • Check operation of all electric points.
• Framework.
  • Make the supporting framework stable, and easier to assemble
  • Create protection end pieces for safe transport.
